João was born in Murrupula, Mozambique. After João’s father died he and his three siblings lived with their mom until she was no longer able to care for them, due to illness and lack of finances. In 2004 João and his younger brother moved into the orphanage. João dedicated himself to school and impressed everyone by his hard work, dependability, organizational skills, and pleasant demeanor. João was very quiet but would laugh easily when someone told a joke. He was good at math and English and enjoyed academics. After finishing secondary school João studied accounting at the Young Africa trade school. He completed an accounting internship at the large poultry company, Noves Horizones, and then was hired in another department in the company. In 2013 João returned to Evanjáfrica to join the staff as our financial assistant.
